International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

Whether you want to study in United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, United States or New Zealand, if you are not a citizen of countries where English is the first language or have not studied in an English instruction school for at least 4 years, you are most likely required to provide an English proficiency score to prove that your English language proficiency is high enough to handle academic studies in United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, United States or New Zealand.

International English Language Testing System or IELTS is an English proficiency test accepted by most, if not all, colleges and universities in United Kingdom, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand. In fact, it is recognized by more than 6000 institutions in 135 countries. In recent years, it is increasing accepted by college and universities in the United States.

In IELTS, test-takers are tested on listening, reading, writing and speaking with the speaking test being a face-to-face interview with a certified examiner.
